There are two different Greenbird crafts - one for ice and one for land. As these surfaces, their challenges and their properties are quite different, the vehicles are designed and optimised to respond to, and take advantage of, each surface.
The superb engineering and design of the the land craft was validated on March 26, 2009 when a new world speed land record for wind-powered craft was set on Ivanpah Dry Lake, on the California/Nevada border USA. Read more about our world record.
The next ice record run will be on Canyon Ferry Lake, Montana, USA, winter 2009/10.
